When we heard that Kanye West's and Jay-Z's first single off of their upcoming collaboration Watch The Throne was called 'H.A.M.,' we thought it was an interesting choice (of deli meat), to say the least. But now that the single's been released and we learn that 'H.A.M.' stands for 'Hard as a motherf***er,' it makes total sense. Those two crazy kids!
We knew from the 'H.A.M.' cover art, which features crowns, bears and gothic font, that the song would be epic, but Kanye West and Jay-Z really rush out of the gate at full speed on 'H.A.M.' The song opens with a cool '80s synth intro and is followed by superhard, superfast beats. The song ends with almost a full-blown opera (were you expecting something else?). And let's not forget--it's four and a half minutes of Kanye and Hova going head to head.
The first joint effort from Kanye West and Jay-Z is pretty close to what we imagined it might be: loud, bold, and chock full of swag. And what does Kanye West have to say about 'H.A.M.'? That it's so amazing and popular and incredible that it's responsible for crashing Facebook, obviously.
